One of my favorite childhood memories is: When my grandfather would tell me stories, we would walk in the rain, sun or just sit at the kitchen table of my grandparents house and he would just tell me all of the treasures of his lesson about life. I ate up every word and understood from an early age the importance of spending quality time with those I love. He always told me, “Make sure when you leave the ones you love even when going to the grocery store that you let them know that you love them.”
I love teaching yoga because: I love people and empowering people on their mats! It is as though I am transporting precious cargo as I to take care of students through his or her yoga practice. Teaching them the tools of breath, alignment and guiding them through challenges and celebrating their triumphs and then being there as they bask in the light of their own beautiful power is humbling and inspiring.
A life lesson I’ve learned from yoga practice is: Yoga has healed my soul and spirit. It is like the ebb and tide of the ocean, a constant tool that return to cultivate peace within myself. It has healed my physical body through injuries, calmed my anxious spirit and allows me to continually blossom the authenticity of my true self.
Three words that describe my teaching style: Compassionate, Healing, Empowering
When I’m not teaching yoga you’ll find me: Spending time with my husband, Jim, traveling to see our boys in Baltimore and Brooklyn, reading, writing, cooking and practicing yoga.
Three people who inspire me are: Jim, Zach and Cass Lubberts
One of my favorite quotes is: “ I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in the darkness the astonishing light of your own being.”~Hafiz
